Exact fare is required. Drivers do not make change. Place dollar bills, coins or tokens in the farebox upon boarding. Swipe passes in the farebox. Insert transfer tickets and day passes into the ticket reader. Ask driver if you need assistance.

1. Day Passes are available on the bus and at CityBus Center and CityBus Administrative Office.

2. Half-fare rider must show the driver a Medicare Card, CityBus E&D Photo ID or proof of age every time reduced fare is paid. The E&D Photo ID is available for $2 at the Canal Rd. office only and are valid for 3 years. E&D Application.

3. Show a current Purdue University or Ivy Tech photo identification to the driver. Does not count as valid fare on routes 21A The Avenue or 35 Lindberg Express.

4. NEW AS OF JUNE 23, 2022: Youth who are 18 years and younger and in school ride our buses fare free. Those in grades 9-12 are asked to show a student ID to ride.

5. CityBus certifies passengers for ACCESS, CityBus’ paratransit service, according to Americans with Disabilities Act eligibility guidelines.

6. Cash payments are not accepted at the customer service window. Cash and credit/debit card purchases can be made at the ticket vending machine in the CityBus Center lobby. Change will be returned via a change card. 

On the bus, fares must be paid with cash, transfer ticket, token or CityBus pass. Passes can also be purchased with stored value tickets on the bus. At CityBus Center or the Administrative Office, passes can be purchased with cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
